Glen Head's Community
Glen Head is a hamlet of about 4,700 residents (ZIP 11545) in the Town of Oyster Bay, at the head of the valley that runs down to Hempstead Harbor. It is one of the North Shore’s quiet, established communities: a small downtown by the railroad tracks, wooded residential streets, and country club greens on its edges.

Glen Head’s houses span a century of North Shore building, from early-1900s homes near the station to mid-century colonials and capes on the lanes toward Old Brookville, most on generous wooded lots that give the hamlet its green, settled feel.

Glen Head is the home of the North Shore Schools district’s campuses, including North Shore High School, which serves Sea Cliff, Glenwood Landing, and Glen Head, a district families move here for.
Around the Hamlet
The Glen Head Country Club’s fairways spread along Glen Cove Road, downtown’s shops and restaurants cluster near the station, and the beaches of Sea Cliff and the harbor are just down the hill.
Getting Around
The LIRR’s Oyster Bay Branch stops at Glen Head station, and Glen Cove Road and Northern Boulevard put the rest of the North Shore within minutes: Glen Cove north, Roslyn Harbor west, and Old Brookville across the fields to the south.
