About Locust Valley, New York
The Heart of the Gold Coast
Locust Valley is a hamlet of about 3,400 residents (ZIP 11560) in the Town of Oyster Bay, and the everyday name for a wider stretch of the North Shore that takes in the villages around it: Lattingtown, Matinecock, and Mill Neck. This is estate country, and Locust Valley is its village center. It is also home to our North Shore office on 2nd Street.
The Hamlet's Character
Downtown Locust Valley is a few blocks of antiques shops, design studios, cafes, and old storefronts that feel closer to a New England village than a Long Island strip. The surrounding lanes wind past horse fences, brick walls, and gate posts marking properties that go back to the Gold Coast era.
Schools
The Locust Valley Central School District serves the hamlet and its neighboring villages through Locust Valley High School, and two of Long Island’s oldest independent schools, Friends Academy and Portledge School, sit on the hamlet’s edges.
Green Spaces
The Bailey Arboretum’s 42 acres of rare trees and gardens sit on the Lattingtown border, and the beaches of Bayville and the harbors of Oyster Bay and Glen Cove are all a few minutes’ drive.

The LIRR’s Oyster Bay Branch stops at Locust Valley station, right by the hamlet’s center and around the corner from our shop.
